YMT (known formerly as Yeovil Machine Tools) was founded by our present Managing Director in 1981 and was initially involved with the used machine tool market. During the following years, with the success of the company, new machine distribution agreements were secured. These included Hardinge and Harrison lathes and part range of Bridgeport products. Re-location to larger premises were also part of Yeovil Machine Tools expansion during the 80's and early 90's culminating in the forming of YMT as a limited company and securing the full range distribution of Bridgeport's products in 1992. Further expansion during the mid 90's saw the move to our present premises and the agreement for sole UK distribution of the Ecoca range of CNC turning centres.
