Assembly Skills

Our two-day bespoke assembly skills training course provides students with the skills necessary to successfully manufacture various wiring assemblies. The course comprises theory and practical work in the following areas:

• Cable looming
• Terminal crimping
• Understanding wiring diagrams
• Terminal soldering
• Wire splices
• Wire harnesses
• Strain relief

Topics within the course are fine-tuned to meet specific requirements of your business. Students are taught to complete assembly tasks to a standard meet the requirements of the IPC/WHMA-A-620 specification. IPC training certification is awarded in the following areas: Wiring harness assembly methods and Introduction to wire crimping.

IPC-A-610

Sarbin Solutions is pleased to offer instruction in IPC-A-610 revision E – one of the most popular electronics assembly standards in the world. This standard is critical in quality control and electronics manufacturing – including lead-free soldering. IPC/WHMA-A-620

Sarbin is pleased to offer instruction in IPC/WHMA-A-620 revision A – a standard for the requirements and acceptance of cable and wire harness assemblies based on the IPC-A-610 standard. This is the IPC’s leading standard for consumer and high-reliability printed circuit boards. Our training is suitable for application specialists, taking place at your premises over four days, and the certification is valid for two years after training. Bespoke Soldering

Soldering is a critical process in electronics assembly and involves fixing circuits to printed boards and other similar tasks. Poor soldering introduces failures into products as well as posing health and safety risks to staff. Our soldering course aims to meet your specific industrial process and to give the training required. We can focus on through-hole soldering, surface-mounted technology, health and safety, ESD, or lead-free soldering, as needed. Our course can run up to five days. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a constant concern when handling electronic devices. ESD can damage devices; Sarbin Solutions is pleased to offer a short introductory course that grounds students in the information needed to avoid ESD and to equip operators in controlling ESD in their work areas.
