Black Swan Printers are a specialist lithographic and digital printing company based in Devon. Founded in 1982, Black Swan Printers offer a wide selection of printing services to throughout Dawlish, Teignmouth, Exeter, Plymouth, Newton Abbot, Torbay, Bristol and surrounding areas.
Our staffed are highly trained and very experienced and they are supported by our high performance Heidelberg presses and digital printing machines. Black Swan Printers produces all of their high quality business cards using either the lithographic or digital printing processes. We have two colour options available spot colour or the 4 colour system CMYK. Cards can be printed onto standard pulp board, ivory board with a silk or gloss finish or on high grade conqueror board. To make your cards really stand out matt or gloss laminate can be used as a finish. To enhance pictures or images we can also use a UV spot finish. If needed we can even help you design the perfect business card that accurately reflects your company and its services.
We can produce beautiful letterheads featuring your company logo or branding that fully compliment your business cards and other stationary. Lithographic or digital printing is used in the production of our letterheads and there is the choice of spot colour of the 4 colour CMYK process. In terms of paper, customers can opt for standard laser graded, high grade conqueror an environmentally friendly recycled option. Letterheads can be used in conjunction with our other business stationary to provide consistent company branding and ensure that all your stationary is identical.
Compliments slips are perfect for placing in completed orders or when sending out company literature. Printed in the same way as our business cards and letterheads, Black Swan Printers use either spot colour or the 4 colour CMYK process to create your compliments slips. There is a choice of standard laser graded paper, high grade conqueror paper or recycled paper on offer. Although our compliments slips tend to come in a standard 210 x 99mm size, we are able to print to other sizes, both larger and smaller if required.
Black Swan Printers can offer continuous stationary solutions to all our customers, removing the hassle of you having to perform this task in house. We use a dot matrix printer for all of our continuous stationary printing that prints easy to read, high quality type. Our continuous stationary can be produced in choice of either spot colour or using the CMYK 4 colour process.
Our leaflets and flyers are entirely custom made to your exact requirements. We have a large selection of standard size leaflets on offer or we are able to work to your own sizes, you can also specify the type of paper you would like to use from our wide selection as well all as picking the most suitable type of fold for your leaflet and its purposes. Leaflets and flyers can be used for an infinite list of possibilities, some of which in the past have included menus, questionnaires and change of address cards.
Black Swan Printers provides a range of promo cards and post cards that can be used for a variety of purposes; tickets, mailers, wedding invitations - there are endless possibilities. We have a range of standard sizes to choose from, or if you prefer you can request your own special size. Paper finishes on offer include glossy, semi glossy, and matt. To give your cards something a little bit extra they can be finished in a gloss matt or laminate coating that also provides an extra layer of protection.
Our presentation folders allow you to present your work or portfolio in a stylish manner with an added air of professionalism. Black Swan Printers supplies presentation folders of the highest standard and we use either thick 300gsm or super thick 350gsm art board. There is also a choice of formats to choose from, oversize A4 which allows you to display up to roughly 10, A4 sheets or oversize A5 which again will about 10 sheets of A5 paper. Our folders feature interlocking flaps which means that there is no gluing required.
Bespoke greetings cards are always a lovely, thoughtful item to receive. Custom made greeting cards can be produced at a cost effective price and Black Swan Printers will print your own design in striking full colour, already pre-creased and folded so all that is left for you to do is write them! Our strong, premium quality 300 or 350 micron greetings card board is recommended for a superior quality finish which will make your cards indistinguishable from shop bought cards. These cards can be finished in matt or gloss with the added option to have them laminated in glass or matt for a superior finish.
It is easy to overlook envelopes when you are considering other aspects of your stationary order, but they perform a very important function as they often are the first impression clients and customers get of your business, especially if you are sending out invitations or direct mail. A good quality, well designed envelope tells clients a great deal about your company and your standards. Black Swan Printers have envelopes in the full range of sizes including DL, C4, C5, C6, C7 and we can also make envelopes in bespoke sizes to order. Envelopes are printed in spot colours or using CMYK 4 colour process.
Our printing services can be used to create stunning full colour brochures, booklets and prospectuses in A4, A5 or square sizes. Black Swan Printers produce all our brochures on high quality paper and at very economical prices, additionally we are also able to print magazines, price lists, newsletters and journals for our clients.

We use the world renowned Heidelberg printers that are known for their technical capabilities, superb performance and speed. Lithographic printing is still the most financially sound solution for larger quantities of first-class stationary and is an ideal solution for large companies who are dealing with longer print runs and on a regular, repeat basis. Our experienced staff have excellent product knowledge and are able to help and offer advice on your printing work.
Black Swan Printers has a custom built design studio in-house that enables us to work closely with our customers to create stunning, bespoke artwork in line with their exact specifications. Not only are we able to design artwork, we can also download and modify artwork supplied to us from a range of formats and using both Apple Mac and Windows operating systems. Additionally we are able to offer other services that include mono and colour scanning, colour proofing and environmentally friendly CTP.
Digital printing is the perfect solution for a smaller print run as there is no need to use plates as you would in litho printing. This also means that digital printing can provide an extremely quick turnaround time, which is incredibly useful if you are working to a tight deadline. Our top of the range digital printing machinery can produce all types of stationary including leaflets, booklets and posters. We can also use it to specially personalise direct mail, postcards and 4 colour letters.
Digital printing provides customers with a full colour, top-quality finished product at a low costs. The results from digital printing are clear, crisp and precise. Digital Printing is a fantastic solution for small businesses as there is no minimum order required and allows them to print shorter runs but at a standard that enables them to compete with their larger rivals. Digital printing is quick, easy and straight forward to use, artwork can be supplied directly to us by PDF or we can scan a hard copy of the original as well as the option to create completely new artwork for you.
Our clients are able to send us their artwork in PDF, JPEG or TIFF format. We always use CMYK colours for our finished products as it gives a more vivid, bright finish to the overall artwork and your stationary looks sharper. Should you only have your artwork in RGB format, it can still be sent to us in the same way and we will just simply use a colour profile to convert to CMYK. If you need some extra help in creating your design we offer a full artwork and design service where we work alongside you to come up with finished graphics that fulfil your initial brief.
Another fantastic service that we offer at Black Swan Printers is variable data printing (VDP) (also known as variable information printing (VIP) or VI). Variable data printing is the perfect solution for direct mail and marketing mail shot purposes. Variable data printing is an on demand printing service that allows certain specific elements such as text, graphics or images to be changed from one printed item to the next enabling customer personalisation of flyers, leaflets ad letters. This process will not slow down printing and uses information provided from a database or external file.
