Silicone Extrusion

Drawing upon the experience of our manufacturing staff and the capabilities of our extrusion plant, we’re able to produce extruded profiles, tubes, sections, strip and cord in almost any quantity you require. These may be:

• Translucent, tinted or coloured.
• Peroxide cured or platinum cured.
• High strength or general purpose.
• 0.5 to 100mm in size. 

Silicone extrusions can be made to any hardness with a range of specialist fillers or additives. State-of-the-art production equipment means we can offer tolerances down to +/- 0.02mm.

Silicone Tubing

We can also produce silicone tubes in sizes from 0.100mm to 100mm (inside diameter). These can be multi-lumen, striped, radio-opaque or ultrasound-opaque, and they can be peroxide or platinum cured. We can offer tolerances down to +/- 0.02mm and can manufacture tubes of varying hardness. There are no tooling costs involved, which makes the manufacture of silicone tubing even more economical for our customers. We impose no minimum order quantities, and we can offer a rapid turnaround which is typically less than 10 days.

Plastic Tubing

Apex can produce tubes in a range of other materials too, including PVC, PE, Nylon, TPE, Santoprene, PU and many more. In fact we have been manufacturing plastic tubes of all descriptions for more than 20 years. Tubes can be made in sizes from 0.10mm to 100mm (inside diameter), with tolerances down to +/- 0.02mm. They can be cut to specific lengths and if required may be assembled and packaged on your behalf. Again there are no tooling costs involved in the manufacture of plastic tubes, which means a lower price per unit for our customers. Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, usually abbreviated to ABS, is a common thermoplastic used for making light, rigid moulded products such as piping, musical instruments, automotive body parts, wheel covers, enclosures and toys. It offers good resistance and toughness, and it can be modified in such a way as to improve these characteristics still further. At Apex we have a great deal of experience producing ABS extrusions and have manufactured products for all sorts of applications using this highly versatile material. 

Plastic Extrusion

As well as manufacturing plastic tubes, Apex is able to produce complex profile shapes according to customer drawings. We can work with all the common thermoplastic polymers and are able to meet specific colour requirements. Extruded profiles can measure anywhere between 0.05mm and 50mm, with tolerances down to +/- 0.02mm. They can be cut to size, printed, assembled and packaged to your requirements. 

Low tooling costs mean economical rates for volume production. This, together with a turnaround of less than 10 days, makes Apex the preferred choice of partner for many manufacturers across the UK and beyond. 

Projects & Prototyping

Our experienced production staff are able to handle projects of all sizes and complexities. A good proportion of the products we supply are manufactured to our own specification from raw materials that are prepared by Apex. This gives us more control over production, ensures a faster turnaround and keeps manufacturing costs at a minimum. 

Over the years we have accumulated an extensive library of samples taken from every batch of extrusions we have ever made. Should none of these be suitable then we can produce prototype volumes at minimal cost so that you can conduct your own tests and trials. 

Stocked Products

Apex stocks a range of the most popular extruded products so that customers have rapid access to certain parts and components (i.e., those which have a number of applications). One of those products is our clear PVC tube, which has many uses in conveying liquids, gases or granules. This is a low taint, low odour product offering good flexibility, crystal clarity and a temperature range of -20° to +60°C. All materials are FDA/BGA compliant, making these tubes suitable for use in food grade applications. Sizes are listed on our website.
