Using expertise and processes developed in the oil sector, Benoil manufactures a range of specialist industrial products.  These include shaped hoses, electrical connection protectors, plastic floats and

    moulded handle grips.

We also produce a variety of items for medical use, from instrument housings and sterilisable, rigid mouldings to seals for hospital and dental steriliser units.

    STRIPPER RUBBER PACKER INSERTS

Packers provide a seal between the tubing and the outside world, preventing the escape of well fluids, from the casing or production tubing into the atmosphere.  This is both a safety and an operational function.  As wells have been worked at ever higher pressure, so the safety function becomes ever more critical.  The operational function is equally vital, since no coil-tubing operator wants problems from the seals when running in or out of hole.

    ENERGISERS

Function: to assist in the squeezing of the smaller size stripper rubbers and to assist in the recovery of the system when pressure is relaxed.

Material: standard energisers are built with a spring embedded in a tough polyurethane.  Others are polyurethane only.

    ANTI-EXTRUSION RINGS

Function: to provide firm support to the stripper rubber packer elements in a CTU stuffing box to prevent them from extruding too readily.

Material: based on reinforced PTFE, the product shows strength in resisting change of shape under pressure, but creep yields at extremes, while remaining surface lubricated by the PTFE so as not to bind in the box.

    INJECTOR ELASTOMER PAD

Function: to cushion the drive support from the CTU gripper blocks

    Material: crosslinked polyurethane 95A.

    ROLLERS

    General Rollers
Supplied in a variety of materials and sizes according to specific design.  Units vary so much that these are always made to order.  The largest so far supplied for coiled tubing is about 2'6" long x 5" diameter.

We have the present capability to make polyurethane coated rollers to around 10' x 2' diameter (3m x 60cm), with surface profiling if required.  These are supplied for major pipe and tube handling operations, among others.

    Gooseneck Rollers
Function: to carry the tubing from the reel over the gooseneck.

Material: Diabolo shape of standard roller is in polyurethane 95A cast around metal housing. The fan rollers are similarly made but are straight rollers. Idler rollers and level wind rollers are made of a more rigid polyurethane but contain no metal centres.

FRAC BALL SEALS, DROP OR DIVERTER BALLS

IMPORTANT: In general, we now make to order, with a lead time of not less than 4 weeks. This may shift the emphasis to uncoated balls, where the lead time is typically 7 days.

Function: To act as fluid diverters so that active ingredients such as acids or proppants are diverted from a high flow area of perforations to a low flow area so that the low flow area gets the treatment.  Used with coil tubing and in other downhole squeeze applications.

Materials: Benoil's consist of a core based on epoxy resins with suitable light- and heavy-weight fillers to achieve the desired specific gravity.  Balls may then be overmoulded with either nitrile or fluorocarbon (eg FCR) rubber.

    RUPTURE DISCS

These find a variety of down-hole uses in Circulation Subs, Motorhead Assemblies, Fishing Tools, Expansion Packer Retrieval and other special applications.

    WIRELINE ACCESSORIES

    The available products are:

    1. Stuffing Box Packings
    2. Line Wipers
    3. Grease Head Rubbers
    4. Swab Cups
    5. Stiff Wireline Seals
    6. Tool Guides

    BLOW OUT PREVENTER SEALS

We can produce to the requirements of the customer; manufacturing special sizes etc. BOP seals can also be made in other materials on request.
