Oxford Electrical Products was established in 1982, in Freeland, Oxfordshire. The company designed and manufactured transformers and power supply units for the domestic UK market. During the 1990s a truly global market emerged and it became imperative that the company adapted in order to meet the new challenges. Partnerships were formed with Far Eastern companies to manufacture OEPs designed products. In January 2005, OEP became part of the Walters Group, changing its name to Walters OEP Ltd. Walters OEP now has it's own factory, YanWalters OEP, to manufacture most of its products in Nantong, China, giving an extra competitive edge in a Worldwide market. The company retains its headquarters in Oxfordshire, offering full technical and commercial support. A small production facility remains in Oxfordshire for prototyping and small batch production.
