NNC Independent Radiation Assessment Services operate substantial and well equipped UKAS accredited laboratories which conduct radiochemical analysis. work undertaken involves the determination of gross alpha and beta activity in soils, water sludges, sediments, vegetation, food stuffs and other matrices as a prelude to the identification and assay of radionuclides present by high resolution gamma and alpha spectrometry. NIRAS also conduct a large number of onsite gamma and beta dose rate measurements in support of radiological land remediation.
