What
is water jet cutting?
At
EWL WaterJet we operate two water cutting systems, "Pure Water"
and "Abrasive".
Pure Water - Is used on all soft materials such as foam, rubber
and plastics, water is pressurised to approx 3600bar (52,000psi) and forced
through a sapphire orifice creating a fine bead of water (0.1mm).
Abrasive - Garnet (very fine sand) is added to the pressurised
water creating a Jet (1mm), abrasive water jet can cut through virtually any
material.
