Lorry Loader Training - ALLMI Accredited Standards
HIAB Operator
Training:
Semi-experienced - a 1 day course for candidates with a minimum of 15 hours operating on the levers over previous 6 months. If this cannot be proved - you will be considered a novice. With no formal training but ability to operate the levers, you need to appreciate and understand safe working practices with regard to the operation of the loader. Any employer also has to be sure of the skill of the employee, and then give formal permission, as suggested by the HSE. This course covers all aspects of safety. The course has ALLMI accreditation - the recognised body behind the 'Approved Code of Practice of Lorry Loaders' and includes both written and practical elements.
Cost - £120.00 per candidate & £37.50 registration. (This course is also available on Saturdays & Sundays)
Novice - With no skill, the Novice needs time to absorb the theory and then acquire safe handling ability of the operating levers. This course allows time to gain confidence in operation ability, use new found skills and appreciate the Health & Safety side of lorry loader operation. This is a 2 day course and covers all aspects of safety.
Cost - £250.00 per candidate & £37.50 registration.
ALLMI and CPCS have formed an agreement that sees current ALLMI cardholders made eligible to apply for red CPCS cards, providing the cardholder has passed the Constuction Skills Health & Safety Touch Screen Test within the previous 2 years. ALLMI cardholders will then have until the end of the life of their red CPCS card to achieve the relevant S/NVQ, which will qualify them for the blue CPCS card.
Slinger/Signaller & CPCS - £199 day course maximum of 4 candidates (plus £35.00 registration fee)
Very comprehensive course content, so cardholders are able to use their skills when performing Slinger/Signaller duties with any type of lifting equipment, not just lorry loaders. A one day course for experienced candidates and minimum of 2 for novice candidates, consisting of 13 modules. A maximum of 4 candidates can attend.
The assessment process is set by ALLMI Ltd and administered by the instructor. It consists of 2 theoretical and 1 practical assessment - this is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to perform their duties safely and efficiently. On completion candidates receive an identity card and certificate valid for 5 years. Candidates also receive the ALLMI Slinger/Signaller manual which is used as a reference guide throughout their career.
ALLMI Training Ltd is recognised as the best by the HSE. Is an independent training accreditation service and standards body for The Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers of Great Britain.
