Products
Manual operation internal alignment and purge gas
clamp
Manual clamps are used to accurately align and purge components for welding by hand, or to enable orbital welding heads to be used.
Widely used when welding :
- stainless steel tube, fittings, valve and filter bodies, for the food, dairy, brewery and pharmaceutical industries.
- Also used with non-ferrous materials, such as copper-nickel pipework for submarines and ships.
Pipe Welding Machines
When mounted into Centrator's
range of Pipe Welding Machines, these same manual clamps become a versatile automated set-up for welding pipework and cylindrical components. Expansion of the clamps is mechanised for ease of use.
These machines are used to weld a wide variety of components and materials such as
:
- Stainless steel pipe and fittings for paper pulp plants
- Nickel alloy tubular components used in gas turbines
- Aluminium aerospace pipework as used on the European Space Agencies Ariane rocket programme.

Aerospace clamps (pneumatic
operation)
Light duty clamps with pneumatic operation used when welding thin wall tube as in the aerospace industry, for example:
- Stainless steel tube for the Euro-Fighter military jet
- Titanium tube for the European Airbus passenger jetliner
- Aluminium tube used in airbourne jet refuelling tanker planes
Pipeline Welding Clamps
Hydraulically expanded clamps provide the power to handle the thicker wall pipes. Used on cross country pipelines, offshore pipelines and for prefabricating pipe lengths for offshore use.
Projects include :
- Welding of duplex and super duplex pipework for the North Sea
- Prefabrication on land of 20" stainless steel clad pipe and the laying of the pipeline from a barge by the J-lay method, of the Maui A-B offshore oil pipeline (New Zealand)
- Duplex pipework welding for the Kandanwari Field gas processing plant (Pakistan)
