We supply, install and maintain UPS and Standby
Generators. These are the core products on which we base our power
protection solutions.
We provide site surveys, a consultative approach
to our solutions, and long term post sales equipment maintenance support. Our
customer base includes mostly medium to large size businesses in many different
business sectors.
CONCEPTS
Every business, small or large relies on computer
systems to a greater or lesser degree. Power protection equipment simply
provides resilience of those critical systems in the event of a mains power
outage.
"What happens if . . . . ."?
A power cut can last from a few seconds to
several hours. It usually happens without warning, and can bring the whole organization
to an immediate halt. Statistics
have shown that in general we all experience on average one power cut per year,
so it makes good business sense to prepare for it.
Every Business has different power protection
requirements. We offer a an individual solution based on individual
business needs.
UPS designs come in three different types -
Off-line, Line Interactive, and On-line

Off-line and Line Interactive work in
fundamentally the same way. Power is supplied to the UPS, some 'power cleaning'
is applied as it passes through the UPS and in the event of a power failure, a
switch automatically operates to draw power from the battery bank. When power is
restored then the switch automatically returns to its normal position.

On-line design is very different. Here, the power
coming into the UPS is converted from AC to DC, and runs in parallel with the
battery bank. On the output side, the power is re-converted back to AC. There is
no switching, the battery simply starts to supply power as soon as the mains
power disappears. Also, the 'power cleaning' comes from the double conversion
process, and is more effective than the other two types.
