Eriez Magnetics designs, develops, manufactures and markets technologically advanced equipment for magnetic separation, lifting and handling; vibratory feeding and conveying of materials; metal detection; and material sampling throughout the world.
Our world headquarters are in Erie, Pennsylvania and
European sales, manufacturing, design and test headquarters in South Wales, UK.
PRODUCTS
In the last 10 years, Eriez has developed more than 50 new and improved products, and today produces over 1,000 types and sizes of magnetic, vibratory and metal detection equipment.
Our equipment is used to detect and remove ferrous contaminants which can damage process equipment and affect product quality; to concentrate valuable material; to recover ferrous and non-ferrous metals from recycled materials; to automatically take representative samples of bulk and slurry materials to ensure industry and/or customer quality standards are met; and to solve material movement, separation, detection and classification problems.
The Company's products are classified along these lines:
Separation Equipment is used for removing tramp iron and fine iron from materials to improve product purity and for protecting machinery, filtering iron from liquid lines, concentrating ores and recycling industrial and municipal wastes.
Included in this category are plate magnets, magnetic grates and traps, magnetic pulleys and drum separators.
Also included within this category is the Eddy Current Separator, used to separate aluminium, copper and other non-ferrous metals from non-metallic materials. Eriez Magnetics is also a major pioneer of cryogen-free superconducting magnet technology, the
"POWERFLUX", used for beneficiation of white industrial minerals, such as kaolin, GCC, talc and silicon.
Producers and processors of high value industrial minerals, now have a relatively low cost and simple alternative to traditional cryogen-based systems for removing ultra-fine iron and titania-bearing impurities.
Eriez has also developed the world's first Suspended Superconducting Magnet for enhanced separation of metal contamination found in bulk material streams.
Vibratory Equipment is used for controlled feeding of dry bulk materials, screening dry and wet products, separating solids from liquids, conveying large tonnages of bulk materials, and for vibrating bins and hoppers.
This category includes feeders, conveyors, vibrators, vibratory drives and screen
separators..
Magnamation (magnets and automation) Equipment is used for conveying ferrous parts, controlling and feeding steel sheet and pipe, cleaning machine tool cleanant, lifting and positioning steel profiles, round or flat (sheets), and moving ferrous chips and stampings from beneath machine tools.
Some examples are sheet fanners, lifting magnets, magnetic belt conveyors and coolant cleaners, and magnetic
"Chip and Parts" conveyors.
Metal Detection and Electronic Metal Separation Equipment is used for protecting valuable equipment and improving quality control by detecting the presence of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in conveyed material or products in free-fall or pipelines and then, in the case of metal separators, pneumatically ejecting the metal contaminant with minimum loss of good material.
A complete line of metal detectors and metal separators for wet and dry applications is available in various sizes, models and strengths.
Sampling Systems are used to automatically extract a statistically accurate and representative sample of feed material in order to assess whether quality parameters and customer standards are being met.
Currently these systems are widely used in power stations, quarries and coal handling plants but applications also exist within the recycling and other process industries, such as wood, grain, minerals, plastics and food.
Turnkey systems or individual units are supplied for stationary and mobile plants, including retrofit
applications.
