Company Description |
Metal Injection Mouldings Ltd produce small parts by a similar process to plastic injection moulding, but the parts can be made in 316 Stainless Steel, 17/4 PH Stainless, nickel & cobalt alloys,
Invar, Kovar magnetic alloys, tool steels etc. - all with excellent properties.

'MIM' parts can be bent, case hardened, polished
or machined - just like any other metal. The "MIM" process is ideal for medium to large quantities and uses tooling similar to plastic injection dies.
| The main advantage of Metal Injection Moldings is the ability to produce very fine detail,
a fine surface finish and close tolerances at economic costs. Internal and external threads can be produced with fine detail such as teeth, lettering, narrow slots, odd-shaped holes and compound forms.
Complex shapes can be produced, that would be virtually impossible by any other process.
The design philosophy and tooling is similar to plastic injection molding. |

Tolerances are generally 1%, e.g. +/- 0.05 for a dimension up to 10mm, enabling most parts to be produced without finish machining, resulting in economically produced items. Size of parts can be from 2mm to 100mm with a maximum weight of 100 grams.
