Cygnus Instruments manufacture the Multiple Echo Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge to measure metal thicknesses through coatings and bad corrosion. Reliable, consistent and accurate measurements are obtained and automatically verified using 'back wall echoes'. Models include the Intrinsically Safe, Underwater, Standard and Heavy Duty versions and a Datalogger gauge. No gauge zeroing is required and no erroneous readings are displayed.
The Multiple Echo Ultrasonic Thickness Gage is now the specified method of measurement by Class Societies, e.g. Lloyds, DNV etc. and is used on ships, cranes, pipelines for wall thickness measurement, portable gas containers, lighting columns, storage tanks and process vessels for corrosion monitoring and Quality Assurance metal thickness checks. A Coating Thickness Gauge for ferrous and non-ferrous substrates is also available.
